Requirements

  • 4+ years of Management experience in Engineering.
  • 8+ years of software development experience building large scale micro services and scalable platforms to support complex solutions.
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring boot, No SQL databases, Kafka, Cloud systems (Azure) and other modern backend technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver multiple complex technical projects in an agile environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of learning, psychological safety, respect for differences and collaboration across all engineering skill levels.
  • Strong design sensibility and attention to detail.
  • Believes in the value of writing code that is clean, testable, and maintainable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of highly capable and committed engineers working on large scale back-end technologies.
  • Partner with cross-functional team members to develop and maintain a well-defined roadmap, while balancing technological excellence.
  • Lead technical direction and architecture with engineering team members.
  • Facilitate coordination of multiple scrum teams to successfully deliver committed feature sets.
  • Driving practices in training, development, and efficiencies across multiple feature teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve systemic obstacles that prevent your team from delivering high-quality software.
  • Build a culture of continuous learning, growth, and sharing of technological insights.
  • Educate and advocate for engineering best practices within the backend services ecosystem.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop world-class engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
