Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • At least 5 additional years of experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position.
  • Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement plans to ensure that contract requirements are fulfilled.
  • Lead efforts to solve both technical and schedule related problems.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other personnel.
  • Work with a closely integrated team of engineers and scientists to design the next generation of jet engine turbomachinery.
  • Work closely with internal and external manufacturing organizations to deliver hardware for rig and full engine testing.
  • Present work to subject matter experts and program leaders at technical reviews.
  • Participate in technical reviews as a reviewer.
  • Ensure work is thoroughly documented.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated passion for engineering and exceptional communication skills.
  • 10 years or more of experience in a mechanical design engineering position.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze & solve technical design challenges with sound documentation, planning, & program management skills.
  • Experience with finite element analysis software such as ANSYS and 3D modelling software such as NX Unigraphics.
  • Material Review Board (MRB) certification.
  • Strong track record of ability to work in a team environment.
  • Outstanding mentoring skills and a strong desire to help others succeed.
  • Experience with structural component design.
  • Current/existing US Government Security Clearance.
  • Experience with engine/aircraft maintainability and reliability.
  • Experience with design quality assurance.
  • Experience working with DoD customer and processes.
  • Experience working on DoD EVM projects.
