Description

We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health!

Organization:

CPMC-California Pacific Med Center

Position Overview:

We are excited to announce our intention to recruit a postdoctoral scientist to join our group for 2 years. Our group has extensive resources that provide a very desirable training environment: lots of data and specimens, collaboration with scientists and post-docs at CPMC and UCSF, and friendly and energetic mentors to assist junior colleagues. The position will be located at the San Francisco Coordinating Center (SFCC), part of CPMC. Studies at the SFCC focus on various conditions in older adults including sleep, muscle loss, osteoporosis, and dementia.

The postdoctoral scientist should focus on osteoporosis, sarcopenia, or other musculoskeletal diseases. The postdoc will collaborate with MD and PhD scientists who are conducting research about the epidemiology of diseases such as frailty, sarcopenia, osteoporosis/fractures, cardiovascular diseases, sleep disorders, and dementia. The postdoctoral scientist will participate in research taking advantage of large cohort studies of older adults that have been followed for decades and archived biological specimens. Our translational research is funded by NIH, foundations, and biotech companies.

The postdoctoral scientist will write proposals for new studies, and analyze data, and publish papers. The successful candidate will participate in research seminars including joint seminars on aging between doctoral and postdoctoral trainees from the Coordinating Center and UCSF.
