Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of emergency nursing experience
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS certifications
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an orientation program for ED staff, including nurses, techs, coordinators, and agency staff
  • Conduct ongoing training sessions on emergency protocols, clinical procedures, and new medical equipment
  • Facilitate certification and continuing education programs such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, BLS, MANDT, etc.
  • Organize simulation-based training and drills for critical care scenarios in collaboration with SIM Coordinator
  • Assess and evaluate the clinical competencies of ED staff through direct observation and skill validation
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide individualized coaching or training as needed
  • Assist in the development and implementation of protocols for trauma, stroke, cardiac, and sepsis care
  • Stay current on best practices and advancements in emergency medicine to ensure the department remains up-to-date
  • Work closely with ED leadership on quality improvement and other hospital department workflows to enhance patient care and operational efficiency
  • Serve as a resource for staff, offering guidance on clinical challenges and evidence-based practices
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs

  • Previous experience in nursing education, staff development, or clinical instruction preferred
