Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- A minimum of 3-5 years of emergency nursing experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS certifications
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification is a plus
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an orientation program for ED staff, including nurses, techs, coordinators, and agency staff
- Conduct ongoing training sessions on emergency protocols, clinical procedures, and new medical equipment
- Facilitate certification and continuing education programs such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, BLS, MANDT, etc.
- Organize simulation-based training and drills for critical care scenarios in collaboration with SIM Coordinator
- Assess and evaluate the clinical competencies of ED staff through direct observation and skill validation
- Identify areas for improvement and provide individualized coaching or training as needed
- Assist in the development and implementation of protocols for trauma, stroke, cardiac, and sepsis care
- Stay current on best practices and advancements in emergency medicine to ensure the department remains up-to-date
- Work closely with ED leadership on quality improvement and other hospital department workflows to enhance patient care and operational efficiency
- Serve as a resource for staff, offering guidance on clinical challenges and evidence-based practices
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in nursing education, staff development, or clinical instruction preferred
