Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Highly knowledgeable in systems engineering practices, integration processes, and mission/safety-critical systems.
  • Proven experience in autonomous engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and deliver results-oriented solutions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and execute strategies for autonomous operation in space.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate autonomy solutions into vehicle systems.
  • Design vehicle systems for Fault Protection / Fault Detection Isolation and Recovery (FDIR), including performing fault tree analyses.
  • Design and model vehicle states, modes, conditions, activities, and functions.
  • Support the lunar program team with system-of-system models and timelines as they relate to transporter systems.
  • Assist with systems safety work, as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Electrical, or a related technical field.
  • Expertise in multiple subsystems, particularly Guidance Navigation & Control, and Flight Software.
  • Experience with the full spacecraft design life cycle.
  • Experience working on large, complex programs with multiple partners.
  • Experience in requirements definition and management, preferably using Jama.
  • Proficiency with software tools such as Git, Jama, Cameo, Confluence, and Jira.
