Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Some college or technical training a plus
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
  • Proficient in the use of personal computer utilizing a MS Windows environment
  • General mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as by self without direct supervision

Responsibilities

  • Ensure wells and equipment in assigned production area are operating correctly
  • Recommend needed changes to improve production (POC adjustment, etc.)
  • Maintain leases in an environmentally safe manner
  • Report all leaks to your supervisor immediately, per HSE&E Handbook
  • Monitor leases daily
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Remove all trash from leases (including pumping unit base)
  • Keep vegetation off dikes, inside dikes, and around pumping unit
  • Keep location free of equipment (rods, tubing, etc.)
  • Ensure oil and gas is properly measured and sold to correct pipeline/ truck specifications
  • Gauge tanks, cut tanks, work tanks, and ensure BS&W is acceptable
  • Monitor gas meters, witness calibrations/ sample testing when appropriate
  • Manage LACT’s start and stop monthly close outs & proving/ calibration
  • Manage tank levels
  • Report daily production promptly and with extreme accuracy
  • Compare actual production to expected forecast and report major variances to your supervisor
  • Work closely with production accounting group
  • Review LOS Reports
  • Recommend changes to reduce costs to your supervisor
  • Ensure accuracy
  • Monitor and maintain facility performance
  • Review well failure reports
  • Monitor Chemical Program
  • Monitor downhole failures and make needed recommendations
  • Rod Wear
  • Corrosion
  • Compare actual production to expected forecast and report major variances to your supervisor
  • Work with production engineers, area managers, and other relevant employees in making adjustments on wells as needed including but not limited to
  • Pumping unit changes
  • Sheave changes
  • Stroke length changes
  • Pump Off Control Adjustments
  • Perform routine maintenance as needed (repair or change out stuffing box packing, dump valves, etc.)
  • Coordinate roustabout crew work as needed
  • Compile reports promptly, insuring accuracy
  • Track & Monitor well failure
  • Monitor Chemical Program
  • Monitor downhole failures and make needed recommendations
  • Rod Wear

  • Compare actual production to expected forecast and report major variances to your supervisor
  • Work with Engineers / Production foremen in making adjustments on wells as needed
  • Run Dyno’s and Fluid levels/ Following Engineer’s recommendations
  • Changes to Pumping Unit Performance

  • Ensure all reserve pits closed and report to supervisor if not
  • Be willing and available to take on additional responsibilities
  • Observe and coordinate rig work (production rod or tubing failures, etc.)
  • Observe and coordinate roustabout crews’ work as needed, coordinating with your supervisor
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
