Principal Mechanical Engineer

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Aerospace, Engineering Science, Math, or other Engineering disciplines
10 years of professional experience in mechanical design or related industry
Experience in managing Engineers
Experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preparation of technical documents and presenting in design reviews.
Be seen as a Subject Matter Expert for Mechanical Design issues providing mentorship, development and review of lower-level Engineer’s work.
Strong collaboration and communication skills in working with the Chief Engineer, team leaders, and peers.
Developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle including design, manufacture, integration and test and design solutions for multiple systems.
Meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for the finished product.
Coordinate with other disciplines in the development of design verification test plans, qualification test plans, and producible designed.
Occasional travel to suppliers may be required to resolve production issues, technical performance issues or attend critical program engineering reviews.

Leadership experience with small teams (4-6 people)
Supplier interaction and supplier management experience
Ability to collaborate in teams or independently.
Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal, structural analysis, energetics principles, control systems, interconnect, airframe, or large assembly development
Knowledge of Agile hardware development
