Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Aerospace, Engineering Science, Math, or other Engineering disciplines
- 10 years of professional experience in mechanical design or related industry
- Experience in managing Engineers
- Experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of technical documents and presenting in design reviews.
- Be seen as a Subject Matter Expert for Mechanical Design issues providing mentorship, development and review of lower-level Engineer’s work.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in working with the Chief Engineer, team leaders, and peers.
- Developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle including design, manufacture, integration and test and design solutions for multiple systems.
- Meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for the finished product.
- Coordinate with other disciplines in the development of design verification test plans, qualification test plans, and producible designed.
- Occasional travel to suppliers may be required to resolve production issues, technical performance issues or attend critical program engineering reviews.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership experience with small teams (4-6 people)
- Supplier interaction and supplier management experience
- Ability to collaborate in teams or independently.
- Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal, structural analysis, energetics principles, control systems, interconnect, airframe, or large assembly development
- Knowledge of Agile hardware development
