Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing or a related field. Advanced degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least six years of professional experience, preferably within a large and complex organization and/or agency. Prior newsroom, newsletter and business journalism experience a plus.
  • Demonstrate superior editorial, writing, research, copy editing (including AP Style) and fact-checking skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a distaste for corporate jargon.
  • The ability to learn complex financial and business topics quickly and translate them into compelling narratives and content using simple, accessible language.
  • A practiced eye for visuals and design.
  • Strong communication (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy and the ability to influence senior executives and a wide range of stakeholders, while managing internal approvals.
  • Integrity, maturity, dependability and a positive professional attitude.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • A willingness to dive into new opportunities and work with a “no task is too small” attitude, both individually and as a team.
  • Deadline driven with the ability to manage time efficiently while working across multiple projects and assignments. Ability to be flexible with work hours, including some early morning and/or evening hours as needed.
  • Proficient with software including Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint. Adobe Creative Suite experience (including Photoshop) a plus.
  • Team player with a track record of success in delivering high quality, thoughtful work and working effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment within a heavily matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

  • Curate and package (edit, write, fact check, publish) short and medium-length stories on a weekly publication schedule for a suite of flagship publications including an executive-style firmwide internal employee newsletter, a digital features magazine and a leadership-focused newsletter as well as the global intranet landing page. ­Story styles range from executive profiles and business explainers to “deep dives” and employee spotlights.
  • Develop creative approaches to storytelling with a focus on end-user experience and employee engagement, while elevating business and client wins.
  • On-the-ground reporter for corporate initiatives including town halls, fireside chats and other priority events across the firm.
  • Adapt and/or package content for “360-degree” distribution across the intranet, email, digital signage and audio channels.
  • Use metrics to track engagement and evolve content strategy across channels.
  • Work with tools including the content management system (intranet) and the team’s email distribution system to upload, manage and distribute content.
  • Make strategic risk assessment decisions, particularly considering the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets. This includes driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy and applying sound ethical judgement.
