Requirements

  • Two-year industrial Electrician degree. (Journeyman/Master Electrician)
  • AC/DC motor control installation and troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical installation and troubleshooting of oil lubrication, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
  • Design of PLC programming, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Variable speed drives installation, programming parameters and troubleshooting.
  • Computer skills used for work associated programs.
  • Monitor installation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to design and upgrade equipment and processes.
  • Maintains facility access control, fire alarm, emergency lighting, and computer battery backup systems.
  • Skilled with reading and using blueprints and schematics.
  • Uses multiple techniques to rebuild equipment based on existing condition.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs manufacturing electrical systems.
  • Works to minimize manufacturing machine downtime using corrective and preventive electrical maintenance methods while identifying / eliminating waste in fixed and variable expenses.
  • Maintains Decorah’s manufacturing equipment, facilities and property.
  • Follows safe work practices and procedures.
  • Using electrical techniques will install, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment.
  • Using electrical techniques will install, maintain, and repair facility related equipment.
  • Completes preventive and corrective repairs.
  • Fabricate, rebuild, design and install electrical systems and schematics.
  • Operates / maintains various shop equipment, hand tools, measuring, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Documents completed repairs.
  • Implement ways to reduce costs, increase productivity and eliminate waste.
  • Identify, requisition and track supplies required to complete assignments.
  • Trains employees for skills required in learning the manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor or leadperson.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated prior experience in the electrical field.
  • Operation of shop equipment including but not limited to welding equipment, brake, shears, mills, drill press, lathes, metal saws, hones, surface grinders etc.
  • Electronic troubleshooting and repairs.
