Requirements
- One year of experience as an Animal Technician 1; OR equivalent education/experience.
- Must pass WSU radiation safety training exam first time it is available.
Responsibilities
- Provide veterinary technical support and assist in all aspects of animal care.
- Assist with the operation of the in-house blood bank service.
- Assist students, technicians, and clinicians in all aspects of patient care, including patient handling and medical treatments.
- Maintain hospital cleanliness, order and stock supplies, and maintain daily patient records.
- Record procedures performed, medications given, and general work-up of patients.
- Enter patient information and charges into hospital medical records system.
- Observe animals for sickness or abnormalities.
- Support blood bank operations through assistance with blood donations, blood processing, blood inventory management, donor medical records, recruitment, and other record keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinic.
