Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, preferably Electrical, electro-mechanical or equivalent.
  • Candidates should have 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Edison Engineer completing the program in 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects for Application & Project Engineering team in the execution of wing-to-wing customer solutions for Turnkey and extended scope projects, from competitive proposal to execution of solutions.
  • Learn and gain in-depth understanding of Balance of Plant Electrical systems/equipment and interfaces such as: Control house/PCM, LV & MV Switchgears & MCCs, Power Transformers, HV Switchyard, Black start diesel generator & control, Synch panel, Protection relaying, Battery systems and UPSs.
  • Familiar and able to read and interpret key electrical drawings such as: single line diagram, Electrical interconnect, schematics & interlocking.
  • Learn & adapt recognized electrical codes & Standards, as well as global technical regulations and drive application & compliance in system and plant design.
  • Review and interpret customer inquiries, project requirements and specifications to establish scope of supply limits, develop details comments & clarifications, evaluate & define non-standard product request.
  • Work with vendors to obtain project-specific information and quotations, Review supplier’s drawings and deliverables against customer requirements, local codes & standards as well as GE design practices.
  • Work with multi-functional engineering teams to develop conceptual solutions, technical work scope, and specifications for project applications.
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
  • Define, review, and manage technical proposal development and execution activities that include but not limited to product electrical system, plant electrical system, plant integration scheme to grid network, High Voltage substation design and development, protection system and industry standard AGC application, plant modeling to ensure grid code compliance.
  • Work directly with Customer, Sales, Commercial operations in negotiating technical and project scope definition, Proposal preparation & contract negotiation.
  • Perform Plant Design Reviews of EPC developed technical engineering documentation.
  • Support Sourcing during Vendor evaluation and selection as part of the project execution process.
  • Provide technical support during Installation, Commissioning and start-up / testing activities.
  • Ensures feedback for continuous improvement using the Lessons Learned process.
  • Enforces quality procedures and participate in their improvement.
  • Collate and close out all appropriate engineering activities including As Built and lessons learned with project team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be willing to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Must be able/willing to travel, both domestically and internationally.
  • Hands on experience or strong will to learn and utilize AutoCAD and power simulation tools such as ETAP, PSS/E etc.
  • Leads with a Lean mindset and is skilled in applying Lean tools to improving business operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform inclusively in a diverse environment and to promote inclusion and diversity in the workplace.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Aero Derivative Turbine Technology experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Able to work with different levels of management, vendors, customers, and cultures.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
