Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET
- Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged and preferred
- 2 or more years of related engineering experience for Grade 6
- 4 or more years of related engineering experience for Grade 7
- 6 or more years of related engineering experience for Grade 8
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform intermediate level engineering work activities and projects
- Apply engineering and technical skillsets to assist the T-Line areas in executing work plans
- Interact regularly with frontline construction crews
- Support crews in specifying and ordering material, managing emergency material stock, and engaging in new technological opportunities
- Coordinate work activities of others and provide training and guidance to lower-level employees
- Resolve and initiate solutions to routine and/or moderately complex problems
- Help coordinate the work of other engineers
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program may be considered for entry into Grade 6
- PhD in engineering from an ABET-accredited program may be considered for entry into Grade 7 or 8
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master’s degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor’s program is an acceptable alternative
