Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Detailed operational knowledge of the equipment
- Mechanical ability and knowledge of proper use of tools
- Proper troubleshooting and set up procedures
- Machine blueprint reading
Responsibilities
- Set-up, operate, optimize, changeover/troubleshoot, and maintain assigned departmental production equipment
- Maintain equipment in working order to produce product within specified quality and quantity limits
- Maintain equipment logs for each piece of equipment
- Repair equipment within capability and report major problems to supervisor
- Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment as specified in the plant preventative maintenance (PM) program
- Start up equipment and ensure proper functioning of machines and control panel
- Check and clean part tracks to ensure free travel of all component parts
- Notify material handler if part supplies run low
- Shut machine cycle off when a jam occurs and restart the machine cycle after clearing the jam
- Maintain accurate production and downtime records (logbooks)
- Maintain a neat and orderly production environment
- Continually monitor in-process quality and perform required Q.C. checks
- Observe all safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements (QSR)
- Support upstream and downstream operations
- Perform rework as required
- Function in a team environment
