Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college required.
- Minimum of 2 years of reliability engineering experience in a refinery, petro-chemical or other heavy industry preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills are essential.
- Effective communication skills are required to mentor others and build consensus across the refinery.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multiple disciplines to analyze failure trends in rotating and fixed equipment, recommending and implementing corrective actions to maximize equipment availability and reliability.
- Address equipment threats and bad actors to maintain business continuity.
- Drive short-term and long-term equipment improvement plans.
- Provide technical and troubleshooting assistance to an Area Team in resolving equipment design, operation, and maintenance issues.
- Utilize reliability tools such as failure evaluations, root cause analysis, and cost analysis to enhance equipment reliability.
- Write recommendations for equipment upgrades, including financial justification (life cycle cost analysis), and assist in project development.
- Develop and review turnaround work lists and scopes for rotating and fixed equipment.
- Lead multi-department investigation teams to resolve recurring equipment failures.
- Provide leadership and decision-making during turnarounds and unplanned equipment outages regarding repair solutions.
- Commit to continuous improvement through innovation and mentoring of others.
- Conduct post-audits to assess the effectiveness of reliability driven projects and activities.
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable specifications, codes, repair standards, and installation requirements for equipment.
- Champion Management of Change for maintenance-driven changes.
- Ensure equipment repairs meet or exceed OEM specifications.
