Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred. Otherwise, have a degree in business or a technical field demonstrating experience to leading a portfolio of mission critical business.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience as a Program Manager for a Aerospace-related, or other highly engineered product manufacturer.
- Proven knowledge and experience with formal project management, including use of project management tools such as schedule management, earned value management, risk management, and scope change management.
- A Program Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Earned Value Management experience, preferred.
- Must be familiar with methods, procedures and techniques used in quality and material control systems.
- Must have excellent listening, collaboration, and persuasive skills to both understand, explain, and expedite when necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence are a must to handle internal and external customers in a positive manner.
- Must have excellent writing skills for customer and Moog communications.
- Candidate should have demonstrated success in organizing and influencing people and have an outstanding ability to communicate and facilitate. They should also have a highly collaborative and consensus-driven leadership approach.
- Ability to obtain a US security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Be a leader of people (~5-10 total reports) including performance management and career development for the individuals within the function including program managers and contract managers and administrators.
- Be a collaborative member of the BU Leadership Team that develops and executes the strategies and priorities for the BU.
- Develop meaningful relationships with customers, industry leaders and other Space and Defense Group peers to maintain customer intimacy, stay abreast of industry needs, trends and best practices.
- Own the financial performance for the overall execution portfolio and individual program budgets within a portfolio of programs with annual sales value of $70 million to $200 million.
- Be responsible for Program Management functional reporting.
- Own and manage the department budget, ensuring Program Management is actively contributing towards the BU financial commitments.
- Own and manage the continuous improvement of functional processes such as project planning, monitoring and control, Estimate at Complete, program reviews, scope change management, project kickoff and baselining, proposal transition meetings and risk management.
- Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning supply owner that ensures appropriate staffing is available to meet resource demands from proposals, firm work, IR&D and indirect efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Program Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Earned Value Management experience, preferred.
