Requirements
- Knowledge of basic nursing services including tube feeds, catheterizations, diabetic management, and seizure management.
- Knowledge of common pediatric developmental conditions and pediatric emergency management.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
- Must be able to work with children birth to age 18 and families who are at risk.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills which include a working knowledge of keyboarding, database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of families or employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Reports for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies regarding the dress code.
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Current, unrestricted registered nursing license as approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Monitor all aspects of health and safety.
- Complete initial and annual training on issues regarding the health and safety of our children (beneficiaries) enrolled, including daily care/emergency care.
- Provide daily nursing services as prescribed by a licensed physician.
- Be available for all health-related needs of the preschool, including sicknesses, accidents, and incidents.
- Perform nursing assessments as indicated on EIDT children.
- Maintain documentation of current immunization records and/or waiver forms on each child.
- Request medical records from doctors and facilities as needed.
- Ensure that billing for nursing services is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain preschool specific medical supplies.
- Be available to parents for health-related questions and/or concerns. Involve Senior Director with any concerns that cannot be immediately/easily resolved.
- Attend Multidisciplinary conferences upon request.
- Attend administrative meetings and provide input into center policies and procedures.
- Assist with new hire orientation relating to health and safety issues.
- Provide relevant health and safety training to staff as needed.
- Participate in one-on-one meetings with leader.
- Monitor for potential abuse or neglect situations and follow the required DHS reporting guidelines for any suspected issues.
- Conduct reviews of the preschool to ensure that health related Arkansas Childcare Licensing and EIDT requirements are being followed.
- Assist with referrals for additional health-related services and/or specialties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric nursing experience, preferred.
