Requirements
- Graduate of high school or GED equivalency examination
- Must be certified and maintain a certification in sterile processing as a CRCST – HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution)
- At least two (2) years’ experience in sterile processing
- Possess ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of processes
- Applicant must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure health care environment required
- Excellent interpersonal skills required
- Detail oriented required
Responsibilities
- Manages the reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation, including disassembly, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, testing, assembly, packaging, labeling, and sterilization
- Cares for and operates ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers, and other equipment
- Completes quality monitoring and documentation
- Performs quality assurance activities
- Responsible for supply inventory management and clinic instrument rounds
- Mentoring, training, coaching, and role modeling of new Sterile Processing Technicians
- Serves as leader for the department to promote teamwork within the department and with other departments
- Performs all duties with a commitment to excellence in quality and customer service
- Performs other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) certification preferred
- Leadership, supervisory or management experience preferred
