Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience with assembly, installation, and testing of aircraft systems components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies, including hydraulic, fuel, aircraft tube fabrication, flight controls, propulsion, electrical and landing gear.
  • Must have experience in hydraulic assembly or repair
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Prior hands on experience with kit, model, or experimental aircraft builds.
  • Experience with common airframe construction techniques such as rivets, mechanical fasteners, nut plates, etc.
  • Proficient with computer use (standard browser, word processing applications).
  • Working knowledge of common electrical components.
  • Able to read a wiring diagrams and follow assembly instructions.
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production.
  • Motivated to support the company’s mission.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an R&D environment with blueprints, schematics, and instructions that are constantly changing.
  • Use various hand tools and power tools to put components together.
  • Combine different subsystems or components into a larger, functioning system.
  • Ensure compatibility and proper communication between integrated components.
  • Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, test results, and any issues encountered.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures in the workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or similar training.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Engineering, Math, Hard Science, Business, etc.).
  • Experience working on experimental or home built aircraft.
  • Flight line or flight test experience.
  • Machine shop experience.
  • Familiar with fabrication of composite parts and assembly.
  • Familiar with paste/secondary bonded structure.
  • Experience running functional checkouts and tests, and diagnosing issues discovered during these processes.
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment with flight hardware.
  • A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, manuals, and reports.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment.
  • Previous or current DOD Security Clearance.
