Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as an individual contributor in software engineering, with a strong foundation in developing scalable systems and tools.
  • 3+ years of management experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management of technical teams.
  • Hands-on experience with production networking, with a strong understanding of how software interfaces with real-world networks (does not need to be data center or backbone-specific).
  • Expertise in network automation, scripting, and tool development using Python, Go, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols such as BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, EVPN, VXLAN, and QoS.
  • Experience with network provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale projects and drive automation initiatives in a DevOps environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Network Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Drive the development and implementation of building tools and solutions with software engineering principles for the Network Engineering to improve network efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Work with leadership and cross-functional teams to define the roadmap for network automation, tooling, and infrastructure growth.
  • Oversee network automation initiatives, ensuring high availability and performance across Crusoe Cloud’s backbone, edge, and data center networks.
  • Partner with Engineering, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to align network automation strategies with business goals.
  • Guide the team in diagnosing and resolving complex network issues, improving operational efficiency through automation.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for automation workflows, network tools, and operational procedures.
