Requirements

  • A Ph.D., MBA, JD, or related graduate or terminal degree from a nationally-accredited institution in Hospitality Management, Real Estate, Business Management, or other relevant fields
  • 3-5 years of leadership roles within the hospitality or real estate industries (e.g. hotel management, property development, or hospitality consulting)
  • Familiarity with areas such as real estate development, hospitality management, brand management, property asset management, or international hospitality operations
  • Strong ties to the hospitality and real estate industries to facilitate internships, guest lectures, and career opportunities for students
  • Ability to develop relationships with hospitality brands, real estate firms, and other organizations in the ecosystem
  • Knowledge of business foundations such as accounting, marketing, finance, and data analytics as they apply to real estate and hospitality management
  • Awareness of current trends like sustainable tourism, ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) investments in real estate, and digital innovations in hospitality operations
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in topics such as hospitality operations management, hotel development, property management, event planning, and general business management courses
  • Strong commitment to high-quality pedagogy with currency in teaching content, methods, and instructional technology
  • Experience designing and teaching online or hybrid courses is advantageous
  • Demonstrated collegiality, professionalism and a commitment to serving the school

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and lead a Hospitality and Real Estate Management program
  • Familiarity with the scholarly basis of pedagogy and content in their teaching areas while contributing expertise in general management topics as needed
  • Participate in department, school, university and professional activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing and teaching online or hybrid courses is advantageous
