Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree, or postgraduate degree, in engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in Information Technology (IT).
  • Extensive Knowledge of Red Hat administration to include configuration and tuning.
  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator: Highly Desired (Certification must be issued by Red Hat and include the resource s valid certification number).
  • Clearance eligible. Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3+ years and Federal Tax compliant.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Performing system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
  • Implementing automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or Python to streamline system administration tasks.
  • Configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and other Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystem tools.
  • Collaborating with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.
  • Maintaining and optimizing storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Supporting application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linux-based systems.
  • Maintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
  • Participating in on-call support and incident resolution activities.
  • Setup Network File Server (NFS) and mount.
  • Configuring Chron jobs for both systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working in a complex networked system environment with strong Administering systems including, but not limited to, the applications below: Oracle WebLogic Servers, WebMethods, Oracle Database Servers, Apache Web Servers, vSphere hosted RHEL, Oracle Database, Red Hat performance, Load balancing, partitioning, back-up/recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • Working in an environment that requires 24/7 system administration (on-call).
