Requirements

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with five years information security experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with data governance/privacy regulations
  • Data Loss Prevention administration strongly preferred.
  • CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GIAC certification strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows, Linux/Unix, and Macintosh strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL and MySQL databases strongly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of computer hardware.
  • Understanding of physical and operational security.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated time management skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs, specifically Visio and Excel for documentation and diagrams.
  • Up to 5% travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and monitor Data Loss Prevention tools
  • Configure and implement data governance tools
  • Research and develop data governance policies, procedures, presentations, and documentation.
  • Review requests for data access to ensure policies and secure methods are used.
  • Work with data owners to organize and classify data so that proper policies and rules may be enforced by security team.
  • Work with other teams to continually improve the data architecture of Merit.
  • Review compliance audits and questions on regulations internationally.
  • Perform audits on data access to company critical data.
  • Manages Enterprise Antivirus, Web Filter, email security gateway, mobile device management, and IDS/IPS systems.
  • Conducts vulnerability and security risk assessment of the assets of the company.
  • Monitor’s compliance of information security procedures and policies and reports infringements to appropriate personnel.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data Loss Prevention administration strongly preferred.
