Requirements

  • High School Education plus specialized courses in drafting or the equivalent in experience.
  • 4-5 years of experience
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
  • Knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology; to include applying the principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare drawings, final drawing revisions, part lists, list of materials, diagrams, maps, charts, schematics, layouts, assemblies, Engineering Change Requests, Engineering Change Notices, and New Drawing Releases.
  • Drawings may require tolerance, computing, estimating and the application of mechanical and electrical principles.
  • Maintain and use appropriate equipment, files, and machines, including computer-aided design equipment.
  • Make engineering drafts and drawings in accordance with the standard drafting procedures as to line work, dimensions, tolerances and formal layouts in the proper view, indication fasteners and joining requirements and other engineering data.
  • Draft multiple-view assembly and sub-assembly drawings as required for the manufacture and repair of product lines.
  • Check drawings for space and location arrangement.
  • Read, interpret and draw sketches, drawings, layouts and schematics. Prepare diagrams, graphs, maps, charts and isometrics.
  • Make final sketch of proposed drawings, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part or another, and relation of various parts to whole structure. Check and correct drawing errors, make necessary notes for revision, and make necessary drawing changes.
  • Incorporate approved Engineering Change Notices into affected drawings. Perform all drafting generated by New Drawing Releases.
  • Perform mathematical computations such as tolerance checks, weight of part studies, etc.
  • Understand and communicate sequence of assembly and installation practices.
