Requirements
- Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s (or int’l equivalent) degree in computer science, biology, chemistry, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently
- Ability to understand and refine requirements defined by scientific and operational subject-matter experts (SMEs)
- Proficient in Python programming, with experience in building DASH applications.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud-computing platforms
- Experience with GIT, Confluence, and good documentation practices
- Strong SQL skills for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with PowerBI and other Power Platform tools (familiarity with alternative dashboard applications is acceptable).
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards using PowerBI or custom tools to track key performance indicators for lab usage, organizational health, and other operational metrics.
- Develop frameworks and simulation tools that allow stakeholders to explore and interact with data insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure visualizations meet business requirements and are aligned with strategic objectives.
- Develop and deploy scalable tools for data capture, integration, and reporting that support the modernization of our vivarium and broader operations projects.
- Optimize SQL queries and develop data pipelines to maintain high-quality, accessible data sources for dashboarding and tool development.
- Create reusable analytical frameworks that streamline the process of converting raw operational data into actionable insights.
- Build tactical applications that simplify and automate data processing tasks.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify data challenges and deliver practical, user-friendly solutions that improve operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in data science and visualization technologies to continuously enhance our digital toolset.
- Support additional projects and deliverables as your role evolves and you grow within the team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with data science platforms such as Dataiku is a plus.
- Experience with operational data in laboratory settings is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) is a plus.
