Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Quality Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing quality engineering role.
- Experience with CAPA, RCA/8D, PPAP, FAIR, PFMEA, and validation activities.
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (CSSGB/CSSBB) or equivalent experience in process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools and statistical analysis software such as Minitab, JMP, or similar.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and inspection techniques.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and technical report writing skills.
- Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
- Participate in the Axon Product Lifecycle (APL) process to ensure compliance with quality deliverables including issue resolution (CAPA), validation plans, CTQ identification, FAIR/PPAP documentation, and quality monitoring implementation.
- Lead nonconforming material review (NCMR/MRB) and manage material dispositions with cross-functional teams.
- Drive and manage 8D investigations and root cause analysis (RCA); implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and maintain FAIRs, PPAP documentation, and AQL sampling plans for incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Provide engineering support to Receiving Inspection including Gage R&R studies, MSA, and inspection procedure development.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) through validation, process control, and risk mitigation strategies (e.g., PFMEA).
- Perform risk assessment and drive risk mitigation and execution for line stoppages, shipment stoppages, product launch blockers and other highly escalated situations.
- Implement and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems to drive continuous improvement.
- Use DMAIC principles and statistical analysis (e.g., Minitab, JMP) to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Interface with manufacturing, engineering, and design teams to drive process consistency and yield improvements.
- Participate in internal and supplier audits; ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610).
- Manage quality-related documentation including procedures, inspection plans, and training materials.
- Partner with supply chain and procurement to ensure supplier quality and performance metrics are met.
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and contribute to Kaizen events and value stream mapping.
- Communicate effectively across departments to ensure quality alignment and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate strong ownership and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internal or external audit experience preferred.
