Requirements

  • 7+ years of UX design experience, ideally in health tech or regulated industries.
  • Proven track record designing for EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
  • Experience designing for API-first platforms.
  • Strong grasp of clinical workflows and common healthcare software constraints.
  • Familiarity with backend software integration patterns (Understanding of FHIR, HL7, RESTful APIs and data flow a bonus.)
  • Excellent visual, interaction, and service design skills.
  • Tools: Figma, Miro, Jira, Confluence. Accessibility tools are a bonus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive UX strategy and execution for EHR-integrated experiences across web and mobile applications.
  • Design solutions aligned to clinical documentation, diagnostic workflows, treatment plans, and patient monitoring dashboards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, clinical informatics, and data science.
  • Translate complex system requirements into usable interfaces.
  • Lead workshops and co-creation sessions with internal stakeholders and external clinical partners.
  • Create wireframes, journey maps, information architectures, prototypes, and documentation.
  • Work with UX researchers to test assumptions and validate designs through usability studies.
  • Advocate for usability and accessibility across all health system-facing tools.
  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to our global design system.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing AI/ML-driven features.
  • Understanding of care delivery models like telehealth and value-based care.
  • Experience working directly with developers on software integration projects.
  • Experience with planning, running and moderating user research studies a plus.
  • Experience with lean innovation and experimentation a plus.
  • Experience working in the healthcare field and/or medical devices a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or equivalent professional experience as an interaction/user experience designer OR Master’s Degree in design, HCI/Cognitive Science, Psychology, or commensurate experience.
