Requirements
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a product sustaining or similar environment
- Strong technical background with a deep understanding of product development and lifecycle management
- Exceptional structured problem-solving skills and the ability to lead the team making data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in work effectively in a fast-paced, and dynamic environment driving out ambiguity and providing clarity to focus project scope
- Proven experience using world class project management tools and methodologies
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards
Responsibilities
- Lead a cross-functional team of R&D engineers, operations and manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, regulatory affairs, and product managers to sustain and improve existing products
- Manage, monitor, diagnose, develop, and implement strategies to address product/platform issues, enhance performance, and ensure customer satisfaction using structured problem solving techniques
- Lead the team in monitoring product performance and quality metrics to prioritize, initiate, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure timely and effective communication with stakeholders regarding product/platform updates, issues, and resolution of field issues leading stakeholders through decisions and tradeoffs
- Lead and manage sustaining projects (continuous improvement, scaling, supplier change, quality improvement, etc.) including initiation, prioritization, timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve team goals
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of deep technical and quality excellence
- Lead collaboration with Operations, Logistics, and Commercial Planning teams to ensure and resolve alignment of product/platform, manufacturing, and distribution roadmaps
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred black belt certification in structured problem methodologies
- Preferred experience in releasing, managing, and sustaining FDA and BSI medical device filings
- Preferred experience in the medical technology, consumer electronics technology, or other regulated engineering industry
- Preferred experience in both R&D and operations/manufacturing engineering roles
- Preferred experience in engineering leadership of multisource and large scaling projects (100’s of millions of units)
