Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering
- Experience with multiple packaging forms (plastic bottles, corrugate, closures, labels and multi-layer film)
- Technical knowledge of packaging substrates and manufacturing processes
- Six Sigma Certification preferred
- Subject matter expertise in packaging with extensive knowledge/ experience of packaging for consumer and industrial applications
- Flexibility and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working with data to guide decision making through design of experiments
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with strong influencing and persuasive talents
- Experience in operational or commercial roles with proven track record in delivering year to year savings and driving change through organizations
- AutoCAD experience is required
- Sustainability experience is required
- Experience working with Microsoft office platforms inc. PowerPoint
- Up to 30% travel required
Responsibilities
- Oversee a comprehensive review of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging to identify and implement optimal standardized packaging solutions.
- Evaluate packaging materials and systems to enhance recyclability and identify opportunities for sustainable improvements.
- Conduct Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) comparisons to assess environmental impacts of proposed packaging changes.
- Analyze and recommend optimal packaging decoration methods, including leveraging internal capabilities for in-plant labeling of primary packaging.
- Drive reduction in closure liner complexity to streamline packaging SKUs and manufacturing processes.
- Update pallet stacking patterns and ensure accurate data is maintained in SAP to enhance reporting and traceability.
- Partner with the Procurement team to identify, document, and track cost-saving initiatives related to packaging improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
