Requirements
- Ph.D. in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Exceptional candidates with a Master’s degree and significant experience will also be considered.
- Extensive experience with high-precision laser systems in quantum computing or related advanced technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, build and optimize high-power, high-precision laser systems to meet the rigorous demands of quantum computing applications.
- Actively engage in R&D projects focusing on innovative quantum technologies and scalable system architectures, with a productization perspective.
- Support technological milestones, including scaling qubit numbers and enhancing gate fidelities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams to ensure laser systems are readily integrable and transferable into quantum platforms.
- Partner with external collaborators and suppliers to advance laser technologies and uphold system reliability.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record in designing and integrating lasers into complex systems.
- Experience with various laser technologies, including but not limited to, Ti:Sapphire lasers, diode lasers, rare-earth doped fiber amplifiers, and other frequency-converted light sources.
- Familiarity with laser safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Experience leading full production development cycle of Laser-related modules and/or systems.
