Responsibilities
- Complete 4 weeks of online lecture material which includes safety, medical terminology and anatomy & physiology.
- Attend rotations within appropriate shift hours: specimen receiving, anatomic pathology, chemistry, hematology, microbiology and outpatient phlebotomy for phlebotomists.
- Will be expected to communicate effectively and professionally with peers, instructors, physicians, healthcare professionals, and patients, both verbally and in writing.
- Answer phones and record messages, collect specimen delivery information and maintain documentation.
- Ensure laboratory samples are collected, handled, labeled and transported properly.
