Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher, preferably in Education, Business, or a health-related field required.
  • Three to five years of appropriate professional experience with background in health care delivery or education with administrative experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills, concentration, attention to details, ability to process and interpret diverse information while working simultaneously on several projects.
  • Knowledge and use of computer programs including excel spread sheets, budget development and resource allocation.
  • Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, plans, and supervises the establishment and operation of programs designed to increase access to quality health care within the 23-county region by improving the supply and distribution of primary care health professionals through community and academic educational partnerships.
  • Manages AHEC including all administrative, fiscal, personnel related, and operational aspects of the Center’s programs and contracts.
  • Serves as the Center’s liaison with community representatives, health care providers, health care educators, governmental officials, Phelps Health, Missouri AHEC leadership and staff, and other partners.
  • Assesses and improves department’s performance and maintains appropriate quality control programs on a continual basis.
  • Ensures the department meets or exceeds all state, federal, Joint Commission, and specialty licensing/accreditation regulations and standards.
  • Manages department within budgeted expenses and initiates cost reduction strategies.
  • Implements strategies necessary to achieve department goals and observe outcomes.
