Requirements

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience, preferably Electronic or Electrical Engineering
  • Preferably with at least 4 years of involvement in a design organization producing mechanical component level designs and configuration management
  • Familiarity working with electronic components, and reviewing supplier specifications to match requirements
  • Advanced experience in any of these design software applications: NX/Solid Edge or other complex CAD software applications
  • Knowledge of using NX is an advantage
  • Knowledge of ERP applications, such as MS Dynamics/SAP, and PLM/PDM systems, such as Team Center, is an advantage
  • Design experience of major components or major portions of functional systems, technically advanced prototypes, and specific products using computer design and engineering systems
  • Develops or improves products and facilitates manufacturing operations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Designs major mechanical components or major portions of functional systems, technically advanced prototypes, and specific products using computer design and engineering systems
  • Generates parts lists and change documentation to support product life cycle maintenance
  • Develops or improves products and facilitates manufacturing operations
  • Develops data and makes parametric models, layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals
  • Define and maintain configuration management through ERP/BOM/Parts Lists to ensure released engineering data quality, including obsolescence of electronic components
  • Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, obsolescence, and contractual specification requirements and cost
  • Adheres to participate in all EHS practices and standards across the site, including but not limited to proactive reporting of observed hazards and recommendations to ensure the safety and well-being of self and others.
