Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math or related science degree
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design, or mechanism design, or flight control systems. Or 7 years related experience with an advance degree.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Work autonomously and have expert or mastery level knowledge within the control mechanism development domain.
- Exercise strategic vision to influence the functional and organizational strategies of the PCAS organization beyond assigned program work.
- Provide ample opportunities for hands-on hardware work, with a dedicated lab space at the Huntsville facility.
- Provide a strong technical learning environment with a dedicated control system technology pyramid comprised of engineering fellows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing flight control systems for aerospace applications
- Experience in mechanical mechanism design
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
- Basic proficiency with model development and data analysis in MATLAB/Simulink
- Experience working with and integrating hardware.
- Basic knowledge of DOORS, CAMEO, and/or other requirements management tools
- Systems engineering design and development
- Experience with dSPACE Real-time test systems
- Proven ability to deconstruct higher level tasks into discrete lower-level work packages and tasks
- Ability to estimate project / tasks level of effort
- Ability to cross collaborate with geographically distributed teams
- Experience and certifications in Earned Value Project Management
- Ability to articulate, in both oral and written form, to technical, non-technical and management audiences
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
