Intervention Specialist

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology or related field
• Knowledge of local community resources and the school system
• Valid Florida driver’s license with a good driving record
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly motivated and self-directed
• Good time management

Responsibilities

• Provides group counseling, individual counseling, and case management services to primarily adolescent and young adult population
• Reports to work as scheduled to perform job duties to facilitate the development of therapeutic relationships with clients
• Provide knowledge and increase awareness of the nature and extent of alcohol and drug use
• Educate the community about treatment programs and services
• Educate the community about life skills, social skills, problem-solving, communication skills and peer resistance
• Establish working relationships with other community providers to strengthen the program
• Document and maintain records of contacts and presentations
• Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mental health or classroom setting preferred
