Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management/ business/finance or law is preferred.
- 7-10 years of related work experience in a Subcontracts role, preferably within the Aerospace and Defense / Military Environment or technology design and manufacturing field.
- Proficiency with FAR & DFARS contract flow down provisions as well as government and commercial contracting practices; Knowledge on Small Business Reporting is an asset.
- Professional, credible presence and strong ability to communicate complex situations with senior leaders.
- The ability to effectively understand, interpret, and negotiate complex terms and conditions with supply entities that are not commodity purchases.
- Skill to perform cost analysis, price negotiations, and determine appropriate subcontracting strategies. Understanding of different contract types (i.e. FFP, TM, etc.) and knowledge to determine which is best suited for the Product/Project and Key Stakeholder requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and collaboration, and the ability to maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong and effective communication skills to drive requirements and expectations to both internal stakeholders as well as to external suppliers and contractors.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven track record in the negotiation of complex contracts structured to meet the interests of multiple, diverse stakeholders and corporate objectives.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to manage strategic, operational and tactical responsibilities, taking mitigation actions when needed, in a ‘roll up the sleeves’ hands-on culture focused on driving results.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that company’s interests are first and foremost protected through compliance with all company policies, applicable laws, regulatory and customer requirements while balancing corporate business objectives.
- Lead complex subcontract price and terms and conditions negotiations. Understand the business case and have an appreciation of contractual, financial/analytical issues and profit and loss implications as it relates to Subcontracting.
- Build and maintain trusted and valued relationships with key suppliers and manages supplier performance within an AS9100 environment.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and team members; provide strong support to program management identifying, managing and resolving subcontractor / supplier scope changes.
- Demonstrate exceptional responsiveness to internal and external customers and follow through on commitments.
- Develop and manage the Defense Solutions Division’s small business subcontracting program, including the preparation and reporting of small business subcontracting plans.
Preferred Qualifications
