Requirements

  • B.A/B.S or equivalent in business, geography, urban planning or related field
  • 4-6 years relevant business experience
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, project management and organizational skills
  • Superior leadership skills with enthusiasm, initiative, curiosity and a passion for results
  • Experienced in collaborating across departments/business units and driving results through collaboration
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; tailors message by audience, negotiate consequences, handle crisis, setbacks and conflicts constructively and diplomatically, and provide essential information to the right people at the right time; relationship-building aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support for market analysis, strategic planning and location research for Target’s new and existing store capital investment programs
  • Partner closely across the Market Research, Finance, Properties-Real Estate, Operations, Stores and Merchandising teams to develop and communicate holistic market strategy
  • Influence both new store location strategy and existing store reinvestment decisions geared towards driving market-based decision making
  • Own store sales forecasting for locations across your unique set of markets, driving for accuracy while evaluating the importance of store location attributes; interpreting strategic tradeoffs, competitive positioning, site dynamics, market trends, demographic and economic indicators
  • Leverage excellent communication skills for presentations to Leadership across MRA, Properties, and FP&A
  • Contribute ideas to improve research methodologies, GIS systems, databases, demographics and analytical tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx) and geographic information systems (e.g., ESRI, MapInfo, QGIS) preferred.
