Responsibilities

  • Develop maintain, and promote an elite workplace safety, quality, performance, appearance, and effectiveness by conducting weekly safety updates, weekly truck inspections (cleanliness of equipment), and assist transportation manager with performance feedback.
  • Set clear expectations, lead, coordinate, train, dispatch, and assist the Transportation Manager with the drivers on initiatives from Corporate and Divisional leaders.
  • Work with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment meets the DOT and CSA requirements.
  • Monitors equipment to ensure all PM and inspections are completed timely and keep the inspections updated in NetSuite.
  • Ensure all preventative maintenance obligations are consistently met, and equipment meets the DOT and CSA requirements.
  • Performs weekly equipment inspections
  • Manage and execute quarterly driver ride along to conduct driver and route audits.
  • Ensures all permit books for each tractor or truck are up to date.
  • Monitor Samsara driver utilization and route management and provide a feedback summary to the transportation manager and share with the impacted drivers when necessary.
  • Receive fuel delivery tickets monthly and help monitor fuel trends of drivers, trucks, and routes.
  • Assist the Transportation Manager successfully manage employee performance while mentoring and guiding the overall growth of the transportation fleet.
  • Participate in new driver recruiting process with the Transportation Manager. Manage new driver candidate interviews schedules and road tests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred (or willingness to complete the training and obtain) knowledge of hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste.
  • Preferred Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement and tanker endorsement
