Requirements
- Experience leading the underwriting of new investment opportunities and managing a portfolio of Structured Private Placements, including esoteric asset backed securitizations.
- Experience with both 144a and/or 4(a)2 structures in the agented and direct markets.
- Experience modeling complex structured transactions and a strong understanding of legal documentation in the structured private placement industry.
- Superior negotiating skills – must be able to effectively represent our position in both new deals and waivers/amendment situations.
- A track record of outstanding professional performance or academic achievement, along with excellent analytical skills, financial skills as well as strong communication skills.
- A strong ability to work in a collaborative environment and to present results to both expert and non-expert audiences.
- Creativity – must have the ability to think outside the box on complex credit situations.
- A competitive drive – must relish the day-to-day challenge to think and act ahead of the market.
- The ability to work well under pressure – must be able to remain calm and focused while multi-tasking in a fast-paced, unstructured and dynamic work environment.
- Someone who is team oriented with strong communication skills – must be able to work with people of diverse skills and personalities towards a common goal of effectively managing large portfolios.

- An educational background that ideally includes finance, accounting, CFA, MBA or similar.

Responsibilities
- Lead origination and underwriting of new opportunities, including credit, legal, and structural analysis. Recommend and present new opportunities to Investment Committee. Negotiate economic, legal, and structural terms with agents and management teams.
- Monitor credits in which we have invested, and lead negotiations of waivers and amendments.
- Maintain industry expertise to anticipate cycles, secular trends and structural changes in industries covered.
- Lead due diligence sessions with senior management of issuers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external analysts and senior management at our issuers.
- Assign ratings, forecast financial performance, and write company reviews.
