Requirements
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement operations sequencing and specification procedures to optimize efficiency and quality
- Plan, design, and select manufacturing processes utilizing materials, specifications, tolerances, equipment, fixtures, tooling, and work instructions
- Collaborate with operations and design to support existing product line activities and/or operational process modifications
- Provide technical leadership and train lower-level staff to diagnose and solve problems and build capabilities
- Determine other technical matters required to make a given product according to the desired volume, timetable, cost, quality level, and other specifications
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to manufacturing
- Monitor established processes via data collection for statistical analysis and conveys technical results to influence others
- Monitor and improve quality control procedures to ensure that processes and products meet or exceed customer expectations
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in aerospace manufacturing, recommending acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials
- Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to select or improve materials, components, and manufacturing processes
- Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and specifications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Drives a culture of continuous improvement, implementing best practices and incorporating feedback to drive ongoing advancements in aerospace manufacturing
- Lead projects from conception to completion, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, timelines, and budgetary constraints
Preferred Qualifications
- Capability in a high-complexity, tight-tolerance, low-volume aerospace production environment
- Experience with conveying work instructions to teams, especially with software solutions such as a Manufacturing Execution System, e.g., Solumina
- Experience with implementation of process improvements that engaged front-line teams
- Experience communicating technical information and build consensus among individual-contributors and leaders
