Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent operational judgment
- Ability to respond quickly to high priority data with minimal supervision
- Ability to accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats
- Ability to capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text
- Good understanding of one or more regional dialects
- Ability to interpret accurately, including consecutive and occasional simultaneous interpretation
- Excellent English-language written communication skills for preparing reports
- Ability to identify and accurately summarize factual points and abstract concepts
- Mastery of reference materials and computer skills, including MS Office
- Excellent English-language verbal communication skills for giving briefings
- Familiarity with cable and IC report writing styles and specific USG classified databases
- Knowledge of domestic and foreign travel requirements and customer travel policies and procedures
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to successfully process high volume travel requirements
- Proficiency in multiple languages is strongly desired
- BA degree in English or journalism, or equivalent experience and training, and 8+ years of prior relevant experience in editing or writing within the Intelligence Community
Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of activities in processing materials or participating in situations requiring a general professional capability
- Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats
- Capture intended implications and nuances in translations
- Interpret accurately, including consecutive and occasional simultaneous interpretation
- Review audio or internet materials and transcribe with high degree of accuracy and expression
- Identify and accurately summarize factual points and abstract concepts
- Triage documentation to isolate pertinent and nuanced information
- Produce written translations and products using computer skills, including MS Office
