Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in rocket engine test facility support, propulsion facility/system operation, integration, or maintenance, or closely related applications.
- Experience with pneumatic systems, propellant loading and off-loading systems.
- Proficiency in test facility construction, operation, and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to work with test, flight, and safety-critical hardware.
- Experience with instrumentation, sensors, and electronics.
- Skill in using standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, including P&IDs and fabrication drawings.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Responsibilities
- Manage test facility construction, operation, and maintenance.
- Fabricate and route pressurization and propellant tubing.
- Integrate and check out test articles.
- Review and follow test procedures.
- Operate test facility systems and install instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, valves, and leaks.
- Collaborate with engineers on design concepts and development tests.
- Plan and communicate complex mechanical installation steps.
- Provide design feedback on test stands and articles.
- Support testing campaigns with flexibility, including shift work or extended hours.
- Ensure safe working practices with hazardous chemicals and high-pressure systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, including Hydrogen Peroxide, RP, and cryogenics.
- Knowledge in the use of computer programs such as AutoCAD or Creo.
- Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.) and pressurized system safety.
- Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight-critical hardware.
- MIG/TIG and orbital welding experience.
