Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in related Quality, Operations, Engineering or related technical discipline
- Experience with interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, and manufacturing process experience in one of the following areas (assembly, inspection, test)
- Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements
- Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems
- The ability to obtain and maintain an ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) clearance prior to the start date.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Verify product and process compliance with respect to contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policies
- Develop strong working relationships with the touch labor, factory leadership, program leadership, and DCMA
- Regular data analysis; development and usage of actional metrics. Generation and publication of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics.
- Facilitate and lead cross-functional team in failure analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying non-conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure and leading Corrective Action Boards (CAB)
- Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessary
- Support work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, test instructions, auditing processes, and assuring configuration management
- Development and maintenance of inspection instructions, ensuring inspection instructions meet the technical data package requirements and meet production needs
- Development and release of First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102
- Regularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and internal stakeholders to manage issues
- Conduct weekly meetings to help reduce cost of poor quality and facilitate timely red rack dispositions
Preferred Qualifications
- Competency and experience in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams in auditing process and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliers
- Experience in Product/Process Failure Modes & Affects Analysis, Regression Analysis
- Experience with AS9145 – Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
- High computer proficiency, including skills working with Microsoft Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
- ASQ Certifications preferred
