Requirements
- An earned doctoral degree before the appointment date in counselor education and supervision or emphasis in that area, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program.
- Evidence to support the completion of a doctoral degree before August 2025 should be provided if a doctoral degree has not been earned at the time of application.
- Candidates should be eligible for LPC/LCPC or an equivalent license in the state of Kansas, however, LPC/LCPC is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach the equivalent of 12 credit hours per semester at the graduate level within the Counseling Program, primarily focusing on distance learning.
- Provide clinical supervision for student practicum and internship experiences.
- Student advisement at the graduate level, including career counseling and class schedules.
- Engage in scholarship, which may include book/journal publications, writing grant proposals, and conference presentations.
- Participate in service activities at the national, regional, state, or local professional levels and other service activities at the department, college, university, and community levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical/relevant experience as a school counselor and/or a counselor in mental health or a community setting.
- Instructional experience in a college or university.
- Experience in the application of educational technology in distance education and traditional learning environments.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and supervising graduate students.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly activity and service to the larger community.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional service activities.
