Requirements
- B.S. degree in metallurgy or mechanical engineering or equivalent training required.
- 4+ years of work experience in metallurgy, heat treat, or carburizing
- Experience in CQI-9, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, CQI-9
- Thorough understanding of Quality Systems (ISO/TS 16949)
Responsibilities
- Coordinates control plans, inspection systems, and action plans to achieve expected results.
- Leads, mentors and develops team members to promote quality awareness and implement quality programs and initiatives.
- Ensures the execution of non-conformances, containment, and corrective actions and metrics.
- Prepares quality improvement team members by identifying training needs; training employees in analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Resolves quality issues by identifying problems; examining solution options; implementing action plans; providing resources.
- Recommends quality policies by identifying problems; studying standards; evaluating quality outcomes.
- Promotes interest in quality improvement efforts by publicizing project results.
- Recognizes improvements by developing rewards.
- Advises management by summarizing data; preparing reports; explaining proposals; counseling managers.
- Improves quality improvement job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to quality improvement and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
- All other duties as assigned.
