Requirements
- Master of Science – Engineering or closely related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in NVH engineering activities and/or academic research
- Minimum 3 years’ hands on experience of Finite Element Analysis focusing on NVH and/or Dynamics
Responsibilities
- Develop CAE models, including FEA, BEM, MBD and other CAE tools for automotive driveline and powertrain system NVH
- Conduct modeling and analysis to identify NVH risks of designs
- Participate and contribute to program peer reviews, analytical DVP&R, design best practices and lessons learned documentation.
- Perform design iterations and optimization studies to identify best design solutions to meet internal and customer NVH requirements.
- Correlate NVH CAE model results to vehicle and lab data. Continuously improve NVH model accuracy and modeling parameter database.
- Assist NVH project engineers in reviewing customer technical specifications relative to NVH performance and CAE modeling needs.
- Develop new NVH CAE modeling methodologies and new procedures.
- Assist in setting up priorities to properly support program timing.
- Create and present analytical reports to internal and external customers.
- All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of vibration, acoustics, dynamics, and Finite Element Theory.
- Knowledge of driveline system functionality, system dynamics and integration
- Knowledge of and experience with eMotor noise or functionality preferred
- Preferred NVH CAE software experience includes Siemens SimCenter (NX CAE), Masta, Romax, Nastran, Altair HyperWorks Suite, Adams, Ansys, etc.
- Experience with NVH data acquisition/analysis software preferred (LMS Test Lab, B&K Pulse, Ideas, AB Plato, etc.)
- Knowledge of gear train dynamics preferred (Hypoid, Bevel, Spur, Planetary, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Preferred computer programming skills, such as C/C++ Visual Basic, Java, Python, Fortran, Matlab.
