Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of job-related experience
  • In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis
  • Successfully pass driver’s license background check

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and evaluate patron and library staff needs to create sustainable solutions that support library and overall county strategies.
  • Provide technical assistance, learn/teach new processes, document activity, and evaluate library staff and patron needs to create systems solutions that support department and county objectives.
  • Develop strategies or recommendations surrounding improving processes, efficiency, and practices of the library’s systems.
  • Coordinate and train staff on workflow processes and updated systems and serve as a resource for questions and technological issues.
  • Create detailed documentation on system requirements and library needs.
  • Serve as the Library Department liaison with the IT Department. Participate in county-wide projects and partner with staff to define project plans including scope and objectives, as well as discover and develop system specifications that drive system development and implementation.
  • Provide direct support to library staff, troubleshoot moderately complex issues, and triage issues to appropriate subject matter expert for resolution as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Library Science, Information Technology, Project Management or related field
  • Computer systems and application software experience including using database tools, word processing and spreadsheets
  • Experience with software including systems analysis procedures, design and implementation
  • Experience with process mapping and technology projects
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
