Requirements

  • 5+ years in EHS roles, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or laboratory environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or program management capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • CSP, CIH, and/or CHMM certifications preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in EHS management systems and reporting software.
  • Ability to analyze data and trends to drive decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Willing to work hard, stay until the job is done, and demonstrate resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage EHS programs, policies, and culture to comply with OSHA, EPA, company, customer, and other relevant regulations.
  • Maintain safety records, data analysis, and reports; track KPIs to monitor EHS performance.
  • Oversee environmental compliance activities including waste management, air and water permitting, recycling programs, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations (in coordination with HR), root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Manage emergency response planning, including drills and evacuation procedures.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (HR, Facilities, Manufacturing) to integrate EHS standards into business processes.
  • Conduct floor audits (Gemba) to observe behaviors and conditions to drive continuous improvement in safety culture.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting of environmental or safety incidents.
  • Stay current on emerging EHS regulations, trends, and technologies.
  • Deliver safety training and education programs for employees, contractors, and new hires.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • CSP, CIH, and/or CHMM certifications preferred.
