Requirements
- Associate’s degree required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, materials management, or supply chain operations, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in production planning and execution required.
- APICS certification preferred.
- Proven ability to communicate written and orally, collaborate and interact professionally with all levels in an organization.
- Demonstrated analytical skills to support problem solving and decision making.
- Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution including the ability to address difference of opinions or facts and use the most appropriate method to reach an effective solution.
- Demonstrated project management skills to develop plans, meet deadlines, coordinate work groups and handle multiple demands.
Responsibilities
- Establish daily production schedules for assigned product, with sufficient lead-time to determine in which sequence products and components will be manufactured or purchased to meet planned requirements.
- Create, review and release orders in a timely manner and perform transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
- Review and utilize work center load data to identify and resolve capacity / load issues. Make or recommend revisions to existing production schedules.
- Monitor schedules and processes to assist departmental or value stream personnel in achieving the goals of on time completion.
- Notify and work with appropriate personnel when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, invoice discrepancies, raw materials replenishment, delivery or quality performance. Solicit feedback, initiate corrective action and coordinate resolution of issues. Keep operations and management informed of critical situations.
- Respond to inquiries on customer orders and communicate with affected customers when schedules are revised.
- Establish, monitor, and maintain accurate system record and planning data for assigned items.
- Communicate with sales and operations planning by providing input and feedback as necessary.
- Develop, implement and coordinate part planning with shop operations to include such things as: Plan for Every Part (PFEP), Container and part count sizing, Returnable containers, Replenishment methods for supporting “Pull Systems”, Minimize human involvement in the replenishment processes, and integration of suppliers with production.
- Ensure prompt disposition of NCR’s to minimize impact to the production schedule.
- Review item forecast versus actual demand patterns. Make appropriate adjustments to maintain inventory levels. Identity excess and obsolete inventory, determine root cause and disposition, and take corrective action.
- Review, analyze and edit orders against a defined set of input requirements. Identify discrepancies and communicate with appropriate personnel to resolve discrepancies.
- Process all order changes, holds, and cancellations, and advise appropriate personnel of cancellation costs identified. Initiate Return Goods Authorizations as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS certification preferred.
