Requirements

  • Valid New Mexico Journeyman or Master Electrician License
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • At least 3 years’ experience with and knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards

Responsibilities

  • Execute electrical installations in compliance with state and federal regulations, ensuring safety and functionality
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, grounding systems, workstations and equipment
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on building infrastructure and factory assets to minimize downtime and enhance reliability
  • Respond to and resolve repair service requests promptly and efficiently
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance team to support general facility upkeep and operational needs, including general labor tasks such as snow removal
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and comply with all safety protocols and documentation standards
  • Follow safety procedures for LOTO, confined space requirements, and other EHSS safety protocols on-site
  • Assist in planning and designing of electrical circuits, layouts, pathways, etc.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement on electrical equipment, layouts, pathways which comply with building codes and defense program requirements
  • Organize and update blueprints & diagrams; submit updates to Corporate Headquarters
  • Coordinate with various vendors and trades personnel to plan electrical installation projects
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards, code violations, & other electrical issues on-site w/ production equipment, facilities equipment, and building
  • Estimate materials, time and labor for electrical installs & upgrades
  • Inspect transformers, electrical circuit breakers, and various electrical components. Source replacements through vendor partners as needed
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of electrical testing equipment and diagnostic equipment to resolve electrical problems
  • Be on-call on after hours for emergency repairs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Experience working in a defense or aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or automated systems
  • Certification in preventive maintenance or facility management (CMRP, CMRT or equivalent)
