Requirements
- Associate’s degree
- Two (2) year of directly related experience
- Valid and unrestricted Class D Driver License
Responsibilities
- Conducts water quality analysis and reviews samples per chain of custody protocol and follows proper quality control and assurance practices. Obtains, records, and analyzes accurate water level and aquifer test data to support water resource assessments and regulatory compliance. Drives to various locations to inspect well sites and evaluate wellhead infrastructure and performs necessary repairs such as sample port and piping maintenance to ensure proper data collection. Escalates any issues to supervisor’s attention.
- Communicates key project information about wells and recharge projects to the public during field encounters and at pre-scheduled events. Supports project engineers and hydrologists by monitoring well installation, rehabilitation, and infrastructure improvements. Coordinates contractor activities and ensures adherence to design specifications.
- Evaluates and repairs field sampling and data collection equipment such as sounders, dataloggers, transducers, and field meters. Inspects, calibrates, repairs, download and maintains field metering equipment to ensure compliance with site-specific regulatory requirements. Orders replacement supplies and provide equipment recommendations and cost information as needed.
- Compiles and analyzes hydrologic and water quality data to support engineering models and infrastructure planning. Prepares data visualizations, tables, and reports for project managers.
- Ensures proper well disinfection procedures align with engineering and regulatory guidelines. Develops standard operating procedures to enhance field compliance efforts.
- Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Physical, Environmental, Geological or Engineering Sciences.
- Vocational training in a construction trade.
- Experience in engineering, environmental or scientific data collection. Applicant must have familiarity with Microsoft Excel data entry procedures.
- Experience in designing, coordinating and conducting soil and water investigations and/or other field investigations.
